Exhortation:
One of the greatest ways of God is that true greatness is measured by service. The natural man often seeks titles, recognition, and opportunities to exercise authority over others. But Jesus overturned the world’s definition of greatness when He said, “Whosoever will be great among you, let him be your minister” (Matthew 20:26). In God’s Kingdom, leadership is not about being served; it is about serving.
Jesus is our perfect example. Though He is the King of kings, “the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28). He washed His disciples’ feet, fed the hungry, healed the broken, and ultimately laid down His life for humanity. His greatness was revealed through humility, sacrifice, and love.
If we truly desire to walk in God’s ways, we must exchange pride for servanthood. Whether at home, in church, at work, or in society, seek opportunities to lift others rather than dominate them. The hands that serve faithfully are the hands that God delights to honour.
Prayer Nugget: Father, clothe me with the humility of Christ and give me a servant’s heart. Help me to seek greatness through serving others, and let my life reflect the love and selflessness of Jesus, in His mighty name.
