Exhortation:
The Holy Spirit is not merely the power we receive from God; He is our divine Teacher and Guide. Jesus said, “The Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost… shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance” (John 14:26). He brings divine understanding to the things we could never fully comprehend by human wisdom.
One of the greatest ministries of the Holy Spirit is revelation. He opens our spiritual eyes to understand God’s Word, recognise God’s will and discern what is hidden from natural understanding. What experience may take years to reveal, the Holy Spirit can make clear in a moment through divine illumination.
The Holy Spirit also guides us into truth and warns us against error. He can restrain you from a decision that appears right, give you peace concerning a step that requires faith, or convict you when you are moving away from God’s will. A believer who learns to listen to the Holy Spirit will not have to learn every lesson through painful experience.
Therefore, do not merely ask God to bless your plans; ask the Holy Spirit to direct them. Do not depend solely on what you have seen, heard or experienced; depend on the One who knows the beginning from the end. When the Holy Spirit teaches you, He is preparing you for what you have never experienced before.
Prayer Nugget: Holy Spirit, be my Teacher and Guide. Open my understanding, sharpen my discernment and lead me into all truth. Help me to recognise Your voice and obey Your direction, in Jesus’ name.
