God Bless You (11)

Text: Matthew 5:11–12

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Jesus said, “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me” (Matthew 5:11). To be blessed is to possess moral courage and spiritual vitality that remain unshaken by criticism or rejection. Your identity and worth are determined by Christ, not by the opinions or accusations of people.

Following Christ may attract misunderstanding, opposition, and false accusations. The prophets, the apostles, and even our Lord Jesus Himself endured hostility because they stood for the truth. Therefore, do not be surprised when your commitment to righteousness provokes resistance, for you are walking the path trodden by God’s faithful servants before you.

Instead of becoming discouraged, Jesus commands believers to rejoice. This joy is not based on present circumstances but on the certainty of God’s approval and the eternal reward awaiting those who remain faithful. Every insult endured for Christ, every sacrifice made for His name, and every act of obedience is remembered and rewarded by God (Hebrews 6:10).

Stand firm, therefore, and never compromise your faith to gain the acceptance of the world. Continue to love those who oppose you, pray for those who persecute you, and let your life reflect the character of Christ. Your present afflictions are temporary, but the glory and reward prepared for you by God are eternal and beyond comparison.

Prayer Nugget: Father, grant me the courage to stand boldly for Christ regardless of opposition. Fill my heart with joy and strengthen me to remain faithful until I receive my eternal reward, in Jesus’ name.
