Text: Matthew 5:10
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
The word of God says, “Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 5:10). To be blessed is not the absence of opposition but the presence of God’s peace, approval, and love even in the midst of trials. When you suffer for doing what is right, heaven recognizes your faithfulness and honours your obedience.
Throughout Scripture, God’s faithful servants endured persecution because they refused to compromise their convictions. Joseph was hated for his integrity, Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den for praying to God, and the apostles rejoiced that they were counted worthy to suffer for Christ’s name (Acts 5:41). Their trials became platforms for God’s power and glory to be revealed.
The world may misunderstand, reject, or even oppose those who choose to live according to God’s standards. However, never allow persecution to discourage you from doing what is right. God’s approval is far more valuable than the applause of men, and every sacrifice made for Christ will receive an eternal reward (2 Timothy 3:12; Romans 8:18).
Therefore, remain steadfast in your faith regardless of the cost. Let your integrity remain intact, your love remain genuine, and your commitment to Christ remain unwavering. Those who endure persecution for righteousness’ sake are assured not only of God’s sustaining grace today but also of the everlasting joy and reward of His heavenly kingdom.
Prayer Nugget: Father, strengthen me to stand for righteousness without fear or compromise. Let Your peace sustain me through every trial, and help me remain faithful to You until the end, in Jesus’ name.
