Exhortation:

Isaiah prophesied concerning Christ: “His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6). Jesus is not merely One who performs wonders; He Himself is Wonderful. Everything about His nature, power, wisdom, and works reveals the glory of God.

Whenever there is a counterfeit, there must first be an original. A fake exists only because a genuine exists. In the same way, the existence of lying wonders proves that there are true wonders. Scripture warns about deceptive signs and wonders (2 Thessalonians 2:9), but believers must never mistake the counterfeit for the genuine.

Jesus is the true source of divine wonders. “God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil” (Acts 10:38). Therefore, fix your eyes on Christ, not merely on miracles. When you know the Wonderful One, you can discern true wonders from false ones and confidently trust Him to work wonders in your life according to His perfect will.

Prayer Nugget: Wonderful Jesus, reveal Yourself to me in a deeper way. Grant me discernment to reject every counterfeit, and let Your true wonders be manifested in my life for Your glory, in Jesus’ name.
