Exhortation
Abundant life is more than merely existing; it is living the God-kind of life through Christ. Jesus said, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10). He came not merely to add years to our lives, but to fill our lives with His presence and purpose.
A person may be physically alive but spiritually empty. Wealth, possessions and worldly achievements cannot provide true abundance, for “a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth” (Luke 12:15). True abundance is found in God’s presence, for “in thy presence is fulness of joy” (Psalm 16:11).
Through salvation, we are brought back into fellowship with God and given a new identity, purpose and hope. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature” (2 Corinthians 5:17), and “the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23). The abundant life therefore gives us peace, joy, strength and hope even in difficult circumstances.
Do not measure your life merely by what you have; measure it by your relationship with Christ. The world offers pleasures that fade, but “the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal” (2 Corinthians 4:18). When Christ is at the centre of your life, you possess the greatest treasure anyone can have.
