Exhortation:
Abundant life in Christ is eternal life—life without end. The initial plan of God from the very beginning in the Garden of Eden was for man to enjoy everlasting life in fellowship with Him. However, man lost this privilege when he yielded to the tempter who came to steal, kill and destroy his enviable destiny.
Sin brought death into the human experience. Immortality was reduced to mortality, and man’s stay on earth became limited because “the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23).
But thank God, what was lost in Adam has been restored through Jesus Christ. Christ came not merely to make life comfortable but to restore the divine life that sin had taken away. He declared, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10).
The abundant life Jesus gives begins here on earth and continues into eternity. It is a life of fellowship with God, spiritual vitality, divine purpose and the assurance of eternal life. In Christ, death no longer has the final word, because whoever believes in Him has everlasting life.
Therefore, do not settle for a life dominated by sin, fear, emptiness or spiritual death. Jesus is the source of the abundant life God intended for mankind from the beginning. Receive Him, remain in Him and allow His life to flow through you.
Prayer Nugget: Father, please, help me to walk in the fullness of the abundant and eternal life I have received in Christ and keep me faithful until the end in Jesus’ name.
