Text : Romans 5:8

Exhortation :

We are called to be good to others not because they deserve it, but because goodness is God’s nature. If you are truly God’s child, His nature should be evident in you. The Bible says that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us—an ultimate act of undeserved kindness (Romans 5:8).

Goodness is the light of God shining through us in a dark world filled with cruelty and hypocrisy. Jesus commands us to let our light shine so that others may see our good works and glorify God (Matthew 5:16). Kindness is not optional; it is a visible expression of our faith.

We must be kind because it is a command and a reflection of obedience. Scripture instructs us to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving as God forgave us (Ephesians 4:32). When God has shown us mercy, extending that same mercy to others becomes a responsibility.

Furthermore, kindness is a seed that brings a harvest. Whatever a man sows, that shall he also reap (Galatians 6:7). When you live a life of goodness, you create lasting impact both on earth and in eternity. Let your life consistently reflect God’s love through acts of kindness.

Reflective Nugget : In what practical ways can I intentionally show God’s kindness to someone today, regardless of how they treat me?

Bible in One Year : Job 31–34
