Text: Mark 11:23–24
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
Another way in which God’s ways differ from man’s ways is in the matter of faith. Human reasoning says, “Seeing is believing,” but God’s Word says, “Believing is seeing.” The natural man wants visible evidence before he believes, but God calls us to trust His Word even before the evidence appears. Faith is confidence in God’s promises before they become physical realities.
Jesus taught this principle in Mark 11:23–24 when He said that whoever speaks to a mountain and does not doubt in his heart, but believes, shall have what he says. He further declared, “What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” God expects us to believe first and then receive. Faith reaches into the invisible realm and lays hold of what God has promised before it manifests in the visible realm.
This was the secret of many heroes of faith. They trusted God’s Word despite contrary circumstances. If God has spoken concerning your life, do not wait for visible proof before believing Him. Hold firmly to His promises, pray with expectation, and continue walking in obedience. In God’s Kingdom, faith comes before sight, and believing comes before seeing.
Prayer Nugget: Father, strengthen my faith to trust Your Word above what I see or feel. Help me to believe Your promises without doubting, and let my faith produce visible testimonies that will glorify Your name, in Jesus’ name.
