Text: 1 John 5:4–5; Hebrews 12:2
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
Whatever intimidates you, threatens to uproot your faith, or causes you to doubt God’s faithfulness is not from Him. Whether it comes through a frightening dream, a difficult situation, or direct opposition, recognize it as one of Satan’s strategies to weaken your confidence in God. Do not entertain fear or allow the enemy to gain a foothold in your heart.
Instead, shift your focus from the size of the challenge to the greatness of God and His unfailing promises. Peter began to sink only when he took his eyes off Jesus and looked at the storm (Matthew 14:29–30). The more you meditate on God’s Word, the stronger your faith becomes and the weaker your fears grow.
The victory has already been secured through Christ. The Bible declares, “This is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith” (1 John 5:4). Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the Author and Finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and walk each day with the confidence that you are not fighting for victory but from victory. In Christ, you are an overcomer.
Prayer Nugget: Father, strengthen my faith to stand firm against every fear, doubt, and intimidation. Help me to keep my eyes fixed on Christ in Jesus’ name.
Bible in One Year: Jeremiah 9–11
