Exhortation:
Salvation is the beginning of the Christian journey, not the end of it. The Apostle Paul exhorts believers to “work out your own salvation with fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12). This does not mean we earn our salvation by works, for we are saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9). Rather, it means we must continually live out the reality of our salvation through daily obedience, spiritual growth, and dependence on God’s grace.
As long as we remain in this world, we must guard our hearts against sin, compromise, and spiritual complacency. The Christian life demands perseverance, watchfulness, and intentional devotion. We are called to cooperate with the Holy Spirit, allowing Him to shape our character and conform us to the image of Christ.
One of the clearest evidences of a growing Christian is the pursuit of peace and holiness. The Bible declares, “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). A holy life is not optional for the believer; it is the natural fruit of a genuine relationship with Christ and the pathway to continual fellowship with God.
