Text: Isaiah 55:8–9
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
Sometimes we forget that God is not a man. Although we were created in His image, His thoughts are infinitely higher than ours. The Lord declares, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways” (Isaiah 55:8–9). While man is often limited by outward appearances, God looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7) and judges with perfect wisdom.
The natural man is often inclined toward pride, self-exaltation, and human reasoning, but God’s nature is altogether different. “Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth” (Psalm 113:6). He is also unchanging in His character, for “God is not a man, that he should lie” (Numbers 23:19). What He promises, He fulfils, and what He speaks, He brings to pass.
If we truly desire to be sons and daughters who reflect our Heavenly Father, we must learn to think and live according to His ways. Let His Word shape your mind, His humility govern your heart, and His truth direct your decisions. The closer we become to God, the more our thoughts, attitudes, and actions begin to resemble His.
Prayer Nugget: Father, help me to reject human pride and embrace Your higher ways. Let my thoughts, attitudes, and decisions be shaped by Your Word, and make me a true reflection of Your character, in Jesus’ name.
