Text: Jeremiah 29:13
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
Many people seek God passionately only when they are in a crisis. They run to Him in times of trouble but gradually drift away once the storm is over. Imagine having a friend who only calls or visits when he needs something from you. You would naturally feel used rather than loved. God desires a relationship built on genuine love and fellowship, not one sustained only by emergencies.
Our Heavenly Father longs for true worshippers who will seek Him continually, not occasionally (John 4:23–24). He delights in those who make His presence their daily pursuit rather than their last resort. A healthy relationship with God is cultivated through consistent prayer, worship, and meditation on His Word, whether life is easy or difficult.
Make seeking God a non-negotiable part of your daily routine. Do not allow your devotion to be haphazard, spasmodic, or dictated only by pressing needs. God has promised, “You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart” (Jeremiah 29:13). Those who seek Him faithfully in every season will continually enjoy His presence, guidance, and unfailing grace.
Prayer Nugget: Father, give me a heart that seeks You daily and sincerely, not only in times of need. Help me to love You above all else in Jesus’ name.
Bible in One Year: Isaiah 44–46
