Planted By the Rivers (2)

Text : Psalm 1:1–6

Author : Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation :

The blessed life begins with separation from ungodly influence. Scripture highlights a progression—walking, standing, and sitting with the ungodly—which shows how compromise gradually takes root. What you expose yourself to consistently will eventually shape your thoughts, decisions, and destiny (1 Corinthians 15:33).

A man planted by the rivers is one who delights in the Word of God. His passion is not in fleeting pleasures but in divine truth, and he meditates on it day and night. This constant engagement with God’s Word builds spiritual depth and stability (Joshua 1:8).

Such a person becomes like a tree planted by the rivers of water—fruitful, stable, and ever-green. He produces results in due season and does not dry up under pressure. His life is sustained by a continuous flow from God, not by external conditions (Jeremiah 17:8).

In contrast, the ungodly are like chaff—light, unstable, and easily carried away. Their lives lack foundation and permanence. Choose the path of righteousness, remain rooted in God, and you will experience a life of lasting fruitfulness and divine preservation.

Prayer Nugget : Father, help me to delight in Your Word and separate from every ungodly influence; plant me deeply in You so that I may be fruitful and steadfast, in Jesus’ name.

Bible in One Year : Nehemiah 4–7
