Text : Daniel 4:30–37
Author : Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation :
Humility is always better than humiliation. King Nebuchadnezzar exalted himself, boasting of his achievements without acknowledging God. Despite divine warnings, he refused to humble himself, and God had to bring him low until he recognized the Most High as the true ruler (Daniel 4:30–32).
When a man chooses humility, he walks in wisdom and safety. But when pride takes over, destruction is not far behind. Scripture clearly says that pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall (Proverbs 16:18). What you refuse to lay down willingly may be taken from you forcefully.
God gives grace to the humble but resists the proud. This means humility attracts divine help, while pride blocks it. When you humble yourself under God’s mighty hand, He lifts you up in due time (James 4:6; 1 Peter 5:6).
Choose the path of humility daily—acknowledge God in your achievements, submit to His will, and remain teachable. It is far better to humble yourself than to be humbled by circumstances. A humble heart secures honor, but pride leads to disgrace (Proverbs 22:4).
Prayer Nugget : Father, deliver me from every form of pride; clothe me with humility and help me to walk in submission to Your will, in Jesus’ name.
Bible in One Year : Psalms 28–33
