Text : Psalm 24:1
Author : Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation :
Sometimes we need to pause and reflect on the true nature of life. The Bible declares that “the earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness thereof,” reminding us that everything we see and possess ultimately belongs to God (Psalm 24:1). What we call ownership is only temporary stewardship.
No matter how rich or influential a person becomes, none of those material possessions can be taken beyond this life. Scripture clearly states that we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out (1 Timothy 6:7). This truth should reshape our priorities and values.
Life is more than accumulation; it is about relationship with God and fulfilling His purpose. Jesus warned against laying up treasures on earth where they can perish, but encouraged storing treasures in heaven where they endure eternally (Matthew 6:19–20). What truly matters is not what you gather, but what you become in Christ.
When you understand that you are only a steward, your perspective changes. You begin to live with purpose, generosity, and eternal focus. Invest your life in what will outlive you—your relationship with God, your impact on others, and your obedience to His will.
Prayer Nugget : Father, help me to live with eternal perspective; teach me to value my relationship with You above all earthly possessions, in Jesus’ name.
Bible in One Year : Ezra 5–7
