Exhortation :
Today is the eighth day on our 9-day devotional journey, and we are exploring the eighth letter in the word GRATITUDE. Therefore, our theme is D – Dependence. True gratitude flows from a heart that fully depends on God. When you recognize that all you have comes from Him, thanksgiving becomes your natural response.
Dependence on God means trusting Him as your source, sustainer, and provider. It is acknowledging that your strength, wisdom, and success are not self-made but God-given. When you depend on God, pride fades and humility grows, making room for genuine gratitude.
Many struggle with gratitude because they rely too much on their own ability. But a dependent heart sees God in every outcome and gives Him the glory. Dependence shifts your focus from self to God and reminds you that without Him, you can do nothing.
Choose to rely on God in all things—big or small. As you grow in dependence, your heart will overflow with thanksgiving, knowing that He is faithful to guide, provide, and sustain you at all times.
Prayer Nugget : Father, teach me to depend wholly on You; help me to trust You as my source in all things and let my life continually reflect gratitude for Your provision, in Jesus’ name.
