Text : Proverbs 3:1–2

Author : Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation :

It is the will of God that we live long and fulfill our days. Longevity, however, is rooted in covenant—it is not automatic. We have a part to play just as God has His part, and obedience is the first expression of that covenant. Scripture makes it clear that keeping God’s commandments brings length of days, long life, and peace; a life aligned with His Word is preserved by His power and guided by His wisdom.

Obedience positions you under divine covering and protection. When you follow God’s instructions, you are steered away from dangers that cut lives short and led into paths of safety. Jesus affirmed that those who hear His words and do them build their lives on a solid foundation that cannot be shaken (Matthew 7:24).

God’s Word is not restrictive—it is protective. It is designed to guide you into a life of strength, stability, and endurance. As you obey, you align yourself with divine order and activate the blessings attached to it, walking in the path God has ordained for your preservation (Deuteronomy 5:33).

Make obedience a daily lifestyle, not an occasional response. Let God’s Word shape your thoughts, decisions, and actions at all times. As you consistently walk in obedience, you step fully into the covenant of long life and experience the fullness of God’s promise.

Prayer Nugget : Father, help me to walk in total obedience to Your Word; let my life be preserved and established in Your covenant of long life, in Jesus’ name.

Bible in One Year : 2 Kings 17–18
