Behind The Scenes (6) – Guarding Your Walk

Date : Wednesday, 17th June, 2026

Text : Proverbs 4:23

Author : Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation :

Your spiritual life must be guarded intentionally because it is the foundation of everything else in your life. The enemy often does not attack openly but through subtle compromises, distractions, and gradual deviations from truth (1 Peter 5:8). What you fail to guard, you may eventually lose.

Your heart is the control center of your life, influencing your thoughts, decisions, and actions. This is why Scripture emphasizes guarding it with all diligence. What you allow into your heart—through what you see, hear, and entertain—will shape your life (Luke 6:45).

Holiness is not a burden but a shield of protection. A life that is disciplined and set apart unto God creates boundaries the enemy cannot easily cross. When you walk in righteousness, you position yourself under divine covering and preservation (Psalm 5:12).

Remain watchful and deliberate in your walk with God. Regularly examine your life, stay rooted in the Word, and avoid anything that weakens your spiritual strength. A guarded life is a stable life, and a stable life will always produce victory.

Prayer Nugget : Father, help me to guard my heart diligently and remain steadfast, disciplined, and faithful in my walk with You, in Jesus’ name.

Bible in One Year : Psalms 62–68
