Exhortation:
Wise people prepare before the day of crisis. We prepare for war in times of peace, save during seasons of plenty, and make preparations for eternity while we still have breath on earth. The greatest preparation anyone can make is not merely for tomorrow’s needs but for where they will spend eternity.
It is dangerous to dismiss the reality of Hell simply because it is unseen. Just as earthly societies have prisons for those who violate justice, God’s perfect justice also has eternal consequences for unrepentant sin. Scripture declares, “It is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
Jesus described Hell as a place “where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched” (Mark 9:48). These solemn warnings were not given to frighten us unnecessarily but to awaken us to the seriousness of eternity. While there is still time, choose the path that leads to life.
Prayer Nugget: Father, give me the wisdom to live with eternity in view. Help me to walk in repentance, obedience, and faithfulness, so that I will never depart from the path of life, in Jesus’ name.
