Victory At Night (4)

Text: 2 Kings 19:35

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Many times, God arises at night to avenge His people against stubborn and unrepentant enemies. When Pharaoh refused to release Israel, the Lord struck Egypt, and all the firstborn of humans and animals died in one night. “And it came to pass, that at midnight the LORD smote all the firstborn in the land of Egypt.” — Exodus 12:29.

When Pharaoh still pursued Israel after their deliverance, God fought for them and destroyed the Egyptian army in the Red Sea. Sennacherib also threatened Judah, but God intervened in the night and 185,000 Assyrian soldiers were slain by one angel. “And it came to pass that night, that the angel of the LORD went out, and smote in the camp of the Assyrians an hundred fourscore and five thousand.” — 2 Kings 19:35.

Are you threatened by a host of enemies or surrounded by stubborn opposition? Fear not, for the God who fought for Israel and defended Judah remains the same today. “The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.” — Exodus 14:14. Tonight, may the Lord arise on your behalf, silence every opposition, and give you victory while you hold your peace.

Prayer Nugget: Father, arise tonight and fight every stubborn enemy resisting Your purpose for my life. Let every power pursuing me be silenced, and give me victory by Your mighty hand, in Jesus’ name.
