Text: Luke 22:39–46; Hebrews 12:2–3

Exhortation:

Before going to the Cross, the Lord Jesus prayed earnestly in the Garden of Gethsemane for strength to accomplish the Father’s will. In His humanity, He felt the weight of the suffering that lay ahead and prayed three times, “Father, if You are willing, take this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Then an angel appeared from heaven and strengthened Him (Luke 22:43), enabling Him to endure the shame, agony, and affliction of the Cross.

If the sinless Son of God depended on the Father’s strength to fulfil His earthly mission, how much more do we need divine strength each day? We cannot overcome temptation, endure trials, resist the devil, or faithfully obey God’s will through human effort alone. God’s grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in our weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Like Jesus, we must continually seek strength in prayer and complete dependence on God. As we daily surrender our will to Him, the Holy Spirit empowers us to overcome every challenge, remain faithful in every season, and finish the race that has been set before us.

Prayer Nugget:Father, strengthen me daily by Your Holy Spirit to overcome every temptation, endure every trial, and faithfully accomplish Your will for my life in Jesus’ name.
