Text: Matthew 26:41

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Working out your salvation requires a life of spiritual vigilance. Jesus warned His disciples, “Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation” (Matthew 26:41). Temptation is inevitable, but victory belongs to those who remain spiritually alert through consistent prayer and dependence on God.

Prayer and heartfelt worship keep the believer connected to God’s presence and strengthen the inner man. A vibrant prayer life sharpens spiritual discernment, builds faith, and equips us to resist the subtle attacks of the enemy. The more time you spend in God’s presence, the stronger you become in overcoming temptation.

The Bible reminds us that “your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour” (1 Peter 5:8). Satan targets believers who become spiritually careless, prayerless, and complacent. Therefore, maintain the discipline of daily prayer, fervent worship, and constant communion with God, for a watchful believer is a victorious believer.

Prayer Nugget: Father, help me to remain watchful and steadfast in prayer; grant me victory over every scheme of the enemy, in Jesus’ name.

Bible in One Year: Isaiah 32–34
