Return to Your First Love

Date : Wednesday, 13th May, 2026

Text : Revelation 2:1–5

Author : Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation :

Jesus commended the Ephesian church for diligence, discipline, and doctrinal soundness. They were busy with kingdom work, yet their hearts had drifted. Today, many believers are active in church, ministry, and service, but their personal devotion has grown cold and routine.

Modern life is filled with distractions—work pressure, social media, ambitions, and daily survival. These can gradually replace intimacy with God. You may still pray and serve, but without passion, love, and hunger for His presence (Jeremiah 2:2).

God is not just interested in what you do, but why and how you do it. Love is the foundation of true service. When love fades, service becomes burdensome and loses its spiritual impact (Matthew 22:37–38).

Return intentionally to God. Restore your prayer life, your hunger for His Word, and your delight in His presence. When your love is renewed, your life and service will regain power and meaning.

Prayer Nugget : Father, please help me restore my first love; rekindle my passion and draw me into deeper intimacy with You, in Jesus’ name.

Bible in One Year : 2 Chronicles 17–20
