Text: Philippians 2:5–11

Exhortation:

Humility is key to greatness in God’s kingdom. Jesus declared that whoever exalts himself shall be humbled, but whoever humbles himself shall be exalted (Matthew 23:12). James 4:10 equally reminds us to humble ourselves before the Lord, and He will lift us up. The attitude of humility is necessary for a higher altitude.

Jesus Christ remains our perfect example. Though He was equal with God, He made Himself of no reputation, took the form of a servant, and humbled Himself in obedience, even to the death of the cross. Consequently, God highly exalted Him and gave Him a name above every other name (Philippians 2:5–11).

The deeper you go in humility, the stronger your foundation becomes to sustain a skyscraper altitude. Pride may attract temporary attention, but humility attracts God’s grace and favour. Never allow your achievements, position, wealth, or spiritual gifts to make you look down on others.

Friend, do not mistake humility for weakness or low self-esteem. It is the strength to submit to God, acknowledge your limitations, receive correction, and serve others without seeking applause. If you desire to go higher, learn to bow lower before God. The pathway to divine exaltation begins with genuine humility.

Prayer Nugget: Father, give me the humble heart of Christ. Teach me to submit to You, serve others faithfully, and remain humble as You take me to greater heights, in Jesus’ mighty name.
