The Need for Understanding

Date : Sunday, 31st May, 2026

Text : Acts 8:30–31

Author : Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation :

The Ethiopian eunuch desired to know God through His Word, yet he lacked understanding. Though he was reading the Scriptures, the message remained unclear to him. It was not until God sent Philip to guide him that the Word became meaningful (Acts 8:35).

This shows the importance of anointed teachers in our spiritual growth. God has provided pastors, teachers, and platforms for learning so His Word can be rightly understood. Through sound teaching, difficult truths are made simple and applicable (Ephesians 4:11–12).

Unfortunately, many believers neglect opportunities such as Sunday School, Bible study, and fellowship gatherings. In doing so, they miss out on deeper understanding and spiritual growth. Ignorance of the Word limits the fullness of what God desires to reveal (Hosea 4:6).

Make it a priority to learn God’s Word consistently. Position yourself under sound teaching and remain teachable. As you seek understanding, the Word will open up to you and transform your life.

Action Nugget : Commit to attending and actively participating in Bible study and teaching platforms this week; seek understanding, not just information.

Bible in One Year : Job 13–16
