Text: Matthew 5:16
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). The purpose of our light is not self-exaltation but divine glorification. Every good work is designed to direct attention to God, not to ourselves.
True light reflects the character and nature of the Father. When our motives are pure, our service becomes a testimony of His grace at work within us. People may see our actions, but heaven receives the glory.
Service becomes worship when done with a surrendered heart. When recognition is no longer the pursuit and obedience becomes the priority, God is magnified. A God-centered life shines the brightest because it reflects Him without obstruction.
Prayer Nugget: Father, please, purify my motives and let my life continually reflect your goodness, in Jesus’ name.
