Peace as a Lifestyle

Text: Galatians 5:22

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

God’s desire for His children is not a life ruled by anxiety, fear, or constant unrest, but one grounded in lasting peace. Peace is not merely a feeling that comes and goes; it is a fruit of the Spirit and a way of life for every believer (Galatians 5:22). When we walk closely with God, His peace becomes evident in how we think, speak, and respond to life’s challenges.

The peace of God is powerful. Scripture tells us that it guards our hearts and minds, protecting us from worry and fear (Philippians 4:7). This peace does not always make logical sense because it is not based on circumstances. Even when situations are uncertain or overwhelming, God’s peace stands as a divine shield over the believer who trusts Him.

Jesus made it clear that peace is part of our inheritance as believers. He said, “My peace I give to you… not as the world gives” (John 14:27). Worldly peace depends on comfort, success, or absence of trouble, but Christ’s peace remains steady even in storms. It flows from knowing that God is in control and that our lives are secure in His hands.

As you journey through this year, peace will often be a choice. Colossians 3:15 instructs us to let the peace of God rule our hearts. This means deliberately refusing to allow fear, offense, or anxiety to dominate your inner life. Choosing peace is an act of faith that declares, “God is in charge, and I trust Him.”

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, let your peace rule my heart throughout this year in Jesus’ name.
