Text: Genesis 3:11-13.
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
When God asks a man a question, it is not because he doesn’t know the answer, after all, God knows all things. If he asks you a question, he is only making an emphasis and drawing your attention to that thing.
The question, “Who told you you were naked?” was asked Adam by God after the Fall of Man in the Garden of Eden- Genesis 3:11-13.
The devil is a master strategist whose daily agenda is to ensure his purpose is established in the lives of as many ignorant souls as possible. The word of God says, my people perish because they lack knowledge- Hosea 4:6. They lack the knowledge of God and their covenant rights in Christ. They lack the knowledge of the holy scriptures and so they find themselves in error- Matthew 22:29
They lack the knowledge of their Maker and so they become so gullible, easily tossed to and fro by winds of doctrines. Due to their deficiency in the knowlegd e of God they fall prey to false prophets and teachers who claim to represent God.
Who told you that your lifestyle is acceptable to God? Are you sure you are not acting out the scripts of evil powers you know nothing about? Do you know the origin of that dance step you innocently imitate?
In other words what influences your actions? How did you come about that style of hairstyle or dressing you have chosen to copy? Is it mere peer pressure? (Mind you peer pressure is not only common among teenagers; even many full grown adults of middle age and above also succumb to samilar pressure from their peers).
I recently asked one of my regular technicians- a full grown man- why he was addicted to alcohol, he said he was influenced by his friends.
Adam was influenced by peer pressure from his wife and he ate the abominable fruit without stopping to question where eve’s sudden desire came from.
By the time you trace the ultimate origins of things that put many souls under pressure away from God, you will find it in the devil. Beware! There is a way that seemeth right unto man but the end is the ways of death- Proverbs 14:12.
Action Nugget: Don’t bow to ungodly peer pressure.
