Text: Exodus 4:1-13

Exhortation:

When God called Moses for a special assignment, the man declined. He even asked God to send someone else because he was a stammerer. The Lord said to him, “Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.” Exodus 4:11-12

Humanly thinking one would think Moses should have received his healing at this point but he did not. God was trying to prove a point. The Lord preferred to use him with his disability.

Your disability cannot stop God from using you, therefore, stop looking down on yourself.

Paul The Apostle, a very highly anointed man of God had a thorn in his flesh- an affliction that left him tortured. Three times He pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But God declined his request instead he said to him, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:7-9

The apostle had access to surpassingly great revelations that could easily puff him up. so in order to keep him from being excessively proud, God allowed the challenge in his life- 2 Corinthians 12:7-8.

Some of the most powerful christian hymns we sing today were composed by saints that were born blind and remained blind till they went to be with the Lord. Yet they made more impact in the world than many without any physical disability. The grace of God was sufficient for them.

A very good example was Fanny J. Crosby, an American missionary, poet, lyricist, and composer. She was a prolific hymnist who wrote more than 8,000 hymns and gospel songs, with more than 100 million copies printed. She was the composer of the popular hymns “Blessed Assurance”,  “Pass Me Not O Gentle Saviour”, “To God Be The Glory” etc

You will not be swallowed up in that challenge.  Don’t limit yourself because of a disability or health challenge. There is ability in that disability.

Prophetic Nugget: The name of the Lord will be glorified in that physical health challenge or disability in Jesus name.

Bible in One Year: 1 Chronicles 5-6
