Text: John 3:16
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” John 3:16. One proof that God loves you and I was the sacrifice he made. He gave his best to salvage mankind. There is no better sacrifice God could have given than the life of his only begotten Son.
If you claim to love someone and you find it difficult to make sacrifices to help such a person, that love is questionable. We are called to a life of love for God; in other words we are called to a life of sacrifice.
Some claim that God is only interested in their hearts but not their bodies. However, the Holy Spirit through Apostle Paul wrote, “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.” Romans 12:1
Again the word of God says, “Therefore, having these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh (body) and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.” 2 Corinthians 7:1.
While so many souls have dedicated their bodies for worldly pleasures only, a believer who understands the will of God will deny himself, carry his cross daily and follow Christ. Our body being the temple of God is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body- 1 Corinthians 6:13.
Some people cannot joke with their stomachs. They cannot fast even for a single day.but the Holy Scriptures say, “Foods for the stomach and the stomach for foods, but God will destroy both it and them” 1 Corinthians 6:13.
Prophetic Nugget: Receive grace to sacrifice for the sake of God’s love and his kingdom in Jesus name.
