Text: Matthew 7:15-16.

Exhortation:
One of the very signs of the Last Days is the proliferation of false prophets. In Matthew 24:4, Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” In verse 11 of the same chapter, the Lord said, “Many false prophets will rise up and deceive many.”
We must beware of false prophets, who come in sheep’s clothing, appearing gentle and innocent but inwardly are ravenous wolves. The word of God says, we will know them by their fruits (character)- Matthew 7:15-16.
Any so called Man Of God whose personal private life contradicts the word of God is false. Anyone who says, “Do as I say but not as I do” is not genuine. Any prophet who is not Christ like in character or who does not reflect the holiness of Christ is false. Anyone who demonstrates the gifts but not the fruit of the Holy Spirit is false.
The false prophets have gained so much ground because they ‘prophesy’ and say things that people love to hear. For example, many church goers love to go to religious places where someone will see visions for them.
We are in the time when people do not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction that challenges them with God’s truth; rather they want to have their ears tickled with something pleasing. Therefore, they have accumulated for themselves many teachers one after another, chosen to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold. They turn their ears away from the truth wander off into myths and man-made fictions-2 Timothy 4:3-4.
Many souls today have become victims of false prophets.
I once came across a man that decided to stop going to church. He abandoned the church for thirteen (13) years being a victim of false prophets. But God showed him mercy. He encountered the Lord personally and God directed him back to the church- this time he was sent to a church where he would hear sound doctrine.
Action Nugget: Don’t be caught in the web of false prophets.
