Text: Deuteronomy 28:1, 2, 7
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
It is not wise to think you don’t have enemies. Let me say this- you don’t even have to offend anybody before they take you as an enemy. Especially when you are blessed and prosperous, naturally you will attract enemies- some of them will come to you smiling in the coat of “friendship”. The fact that things are working in your favour is enough reason to attract enemies.
A good example was when Christ was born- a little infant who was innocent. Can you imagine that Herod the king already became his enemy and was planning to kill him? Why? The three wise men came to worship the new born baby king. Herod felt envious and saw the baby as a threat to his kingdom fearing (illogically) that in the future Jesus would take over his throne- Matthew 2.
Just as Herod failed over Christ and was smitten by worms, all those that want you dead will go in your place in Jesus name.
The word of God says, if you can be careful to obey his word and walk in his ways, “The LORD will grant that the enemies who rise up against you will be defeated before you. They will come at you from one direction but flee from you in seven.” Deuteronomy 28:1, 2, 7
Your own responsibility is to live a life of obedience according to his will; serve him with joy, spend and be spent for his glory, win souls into his kingdom, seek him first in all things and praise him always. The Lord will fight for you and you shall hold your peace in Jesus name.
Prophetic Nugget: The Lord will fight your battles and grant you peace on all sides in Jesus name.
