Exhortation:

The third level of preparation we shall be discussing today is more-than-enough preparation. God loves excellence and delights in abundance. Jesus declared, “I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly” (John 10:10b). God does not call us to a life of careless inadequacy but to a life that reflects His abundant grace.

God is not a God of insufficiency; He is the God of abundance. When He pours into a cup, it overflows—not as a sign of wastage, but as a demonstration of His abundant provision. David testified, “Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over” (Psalm 23:5). When Jesus fed the five thousand with five loaves and two fishes, twelve baskets of fragments were gathered afterwards (John 6:1–14).

We are created in God’s image; therefore, we must cultivate a spirit of excellence and go beyond the bare minimum in whatever we do. When Saul demanded one hundred Philistine foreskins as the bride price for his daughter, David went beyond the requirement and brought two hundred (1 Samuel 18:25–27). That was more than enough! He did not merely meet the requirement; he exceeded it.

Beloved, do not develop a mentality of barely enough when God has given you the capacity to do more. Whether in your prayer life, service to God, studies, business, career, or relationships, cultivate the habit of going the extra mile. Do not just prepare to meet the demand; prepare to exceed expectations. Excellence is not doing the bare minimum; it is giving your best and making room for more.

Prayer Nugget: Father, deliver me from the mentality of insufficiency and mediocrity. Let my life, service, and accomplishments reflect Your excellence and abundance, in Jesus’ mighty name.
