Text: 1 Kings 17:8–16; Galatians 6:9
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
God appointed the widow of Zarephath to sustain Prophet Elijah during the famine, and as she obeyed, the flour and oil did not fail (1 Kings 17:8–16). Her faithfulness to God’s instruction positioned her to experience His miraculous provision throughout the drought.
God’s covenant works through divine promises and our faithful response to His instructions. Many interrupt the process by abandoning their responsibilities, yet wonder why things are no longer working as before. Do not abandon the assignment through which God has called you to serve His purpose.
Many people start well but later become careless, distracted, or weary in fulfilling their divine responsibilities. Scripture declares, “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful” (1 Corinthians 4:2). God’s faithfulness should inspire us to remain committed to our own responsibilities.
Beloved, do not abandon your God-given assignment because of discouragement or difficulty. The Word says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not” (Galatians 6:9). Keep doing your part faithfully, and trust God with the outcome.
Prayer Nugget: Father, please, give me the grace to remain faithful to every assignment You have entrusted to me. Deliver me from weariness, selfishness, and carelessness, and help me to trust Your unfailing provision, in Jesus’ mighty name.
