Exhortation:
“Who is like unto thee, O LORD… glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?” (Exodus 15:11). Holiness is part of God’s very nature; He is completely pure, righteous, and without corruption. As children of a holy God, we are not merely called to admire His holiness but to reflect it in our lives. Holiness means total obedience to God—submitting our will, choices, desires, and actions completely to His Word.
God says, “Be ye holy; for I am holy” (1 Peter 1:15–16). True holiness therefore requires us to deliberately reject sin and obey God in every area of life—our thoughts, words, relationships, conduct, business, and private lives. It is not selective obedience or doing only what is convenient; it is a wholehearted surrender to God’s will. Jesus demonstrated this perfectly when He said, “Not my will, but thine, be done” (Luke 22:42).
Holiness is not legalism; it is the beauty of a life completely surrendered to God. Sin may offer temporary pleasure, but obedience brings us into deeper fellowship with Him, for “without holiness no man shall see the Lord” (Hebrews 12:14). Let us therefore examine our lives, forsake whatever God condemns, and deliberately choose obedience, so that our lives may continually bring glory to the God who is glorious in holiness.
