Text: 1 Thessalonians 5:18
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
Gratitude is more than a response—it is a lifestyle that reflects a heart devoted to God. Gratitude turns what we have into enough and opens the door for more. In every season, pleasant or painful, giving thanks positions us to see God’s hand at work. Scripture commands us to give thanks in all things, for this is the will of God concerning us (Ephesians 5:20).
As we begin this 9-day devotional journey, the word GRATITUDE will serve as a spiritual guide, each letter unveiling a deeper dimension of thanksgiving: G – God’s Goodness, R – Remembrance, A – Appreciation, T – Trust, I – Intentional Living, T – Testimony, U – Understanding, D – Dependence, E – Expression. Each day will build upon these truths, leading us into a richer, more consistent life of gratitude.
Gratitude is the key that unlocks joy, even in difficult seasons. When we cultivate a thankful heart, we silence complaints and magnify God’s faithfulness. The Word of God declares that it is a good thing to give thanks unto the Lord and to sing praises unto His name (Psalm 92:1). No matter what lies ahead, thanksgiving will always keep us grounded in hope and anchored in faith.
Let this be a season where murmuring is replaced with praise, and entitlement gives way to appreciation. As you walk through each day of this devotional, may your heart be transformed, your perspective renewed, and your life filled with overflowing thanksgiving.
Prayer Nugget: Father, teach me to live a life of gratitude; open my eyes to see your goodness daily and fill my heart with thanksgiving in every situation, in Jesus’ name.
Bible in One Year: 2 Samuel 20–22
