Text: 1 Samuel 17:32-51
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
David was a man of great faith. How can a teenager with no military training or experience face a veteran military General called Goliath saying the following words, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied?”
He went further to say, “This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down and cut off your head. This very day I will give the carcasses of the Philistine army to the birds and the wild animals, and the whole world will know that there is a God in Israel. All those gathered here will know that it is not by sword or spear that the Lord saves; for the battle is the Lord’s, and he will give all of you into our hands.” 1 Samuel 17:45-47
Everything he said became a reality. He trusted the invisible God and was not threatened by the visible army of the philistines.
Men of faith are not moved by physical realities; instead they allow themselves to be stirred up by the word of God. The word of God is more real to them than what they can feel, hear, see, touch or smell. They pray away any undesirable physical reality and pray into existence what the word of God says about their situations.
They prayerfully cancel every ugly reality and enforce the word of God to become their new realities. They understand that Satan and the forces of darkness can manipulate realities; therefore they don’t settle for what the enemy presents as their reality.
If your current reality does not align with the promises of God for your life as a believer, don’t settle for it. Reject it and pray the word and will of God to become your new reality.
Action Nugget: Don’t settle for your current ugly reality; reject it pray into existence the promises of God as your new reality.
