Your Heart, Your Choice

Text: Luke 8:15

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

In the parable of the sower, Jesus made it clear that the seed was the same everywhere; only the soil differed. God’s Word is constant, powerful, and life-giving, but its outcome in our lives depends on how our hearts receive it. A good heart hears the Word, understands it, keeps it, and brings forth fruit with patience, as seen in Luke 8:15.

Your heart condition is your personal responsibility. No one else chooses your soil for you. What you allow into your heart, what you nurture, and what you uproot all determine the harvest you experience. Scripture reminds us to guard our hearts diligently, because life flows from it (Proverbs 4:23).

Transformation does not happen by chance; it happens by intentional cultivation. A prepared heart is humble, teachable, and responsive to God. When the heart is aligned, the Word gains strength, and growth becomes inevitable.

This season is a call to honest self-assessment. God desires not just hearers of the Word, but doers who allow it to shape their lives. Choose a good heart, and the Word will produce lasting fruit to the glory of God.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please help me to guard my heart diligently and respond rightly to Your Word, in Jesus’ name.
