Text: Acts 22:25-29

Exhortation:

By virtue of their place of birth and citizenship some people are already advantaged in life. They became automatically fortunate in life not because of personally merit or achievement. Everything they need to live a fulfilling life is already made available to them on the platter of gold. You would see many people across the world ready to pay any price to become a citizen or permanent residence of such countries because of the benefits of citizenship or permanent residency.

In today’s text, Paul the Apostle who was a Roman citizen was given special treatment because of his citizenship. When the soldiers were about to flog him he reminded them of his citizenship and they could not harm him anymore.

Those who were about to interrogate him withdrew immediately. The commander of the army himself was alarmed when he realized that he had put Paul, a Roman citizen, in chains because it was unlawful to chain a Roman- Acts 22:25-29.

The army commander said, “I became a Roman citizen by paying a large amount of money.” “But I am one by birth,” Paul answered. Acts 22:28

Anyone who is born of God is already advantaged for eternity. The least in God’s kingdom is greater than the greatest on Earth, no matter his earthly achievement- Matthew 11:11

Paul the Apostle wrote, “But we are citizens of Heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.” Philippians 3:20

The country called Heaven is a place of eternal bliss, joy and peace. Revelation 21:21 in the Bible describes the streets of the city of heaven as being made of pure gold, like transparent glass. The verse also describes the city’s twelve gates as being made of twelve pearls, each one a unique single pearl.

However, nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life- Revelation 21:27.

If you are not yet born of God, quickly repent today, forsake sinful living and secure your Heavenly citizenship before it is too late.

Prayer Nugget: In Jesus name I come against every worldly distraction that will hinder me from making it to Heaven in Jesus name.
