Text: Exodus 33:14-15
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
God’s Presence is the difference between exhausting struggle and divine ease. Moses understood this truth when he boldly declared that progress without God was meaningless, choosing to remain stationary rather than move without divine companionship. When God is absent, even noble pursuits become burdensome and unfulfilling.
When the Lord goes with a man, battles are settled before they begin. God assured Moses in Exodus 33:14, “My Presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest,” revealing that rest flows from divine companionship rather than the absence of pressure. This is why Exodus 33:15 records Moses’ resolve not to move an inch without God, knowing that Presence guarantees victory and peace in every season.
Scripture records concerning Joseph that “the Lord was with him, and he was a prosperous man” (Genesis 39:2), even while he served as a slave in Potiphar’s house. That same Presence followed him into prison, as seen in Genesis 39:21, where God granted him favour and mercy in confinement. Divine Presence does not wait for ideal conditions; it turns adversity into advantage and obscurity into promotion.
This year, pursue God’s Presence more than visible achievements or quick results. In His Presence there is fullness of joy and divine direction, as revealed in Psalm 16:11. Where God abides, success flows naturally, and destiny unfolds without strain.
Prayer Nugget: Father, please, let Your Presence go with me daily. Do not allow me to journey through this year alone in Jesus’ name.
