Text: Proverbs 16:9
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
God’s direction is the safest and surest path for any journey in life. Scripture reminds us that while man may plan his way, it is the Lord who directs his steps (Proverbs 16:9). When people depend only on their own understanding, they often walk into avoidable regrets. Trusting God’s leading saves us from mistakes we cannot foresee.
The Lord sees the end from the beginning and understands every season ahead of us (Isaiah 46:10). His guidance is shaped by eternal knowledge, not present emotions. At times, God’s instructions may appear unusual or uncomfortable, but they are always purposeful. What seems slow to us is often God positioning us correctly.
When you submit to God’s leading, even delays become part of His plan. Divine direction protects us from dangers we cannot see and troubles we do not expect (Psalm 32:8). God’s guidance is not only about movement; it is also about preservation and timing.
As you journey through this year, choose obedience over convenience. God’s path may appear narrow and demanding, but it leads to life, peace, and lasting fulfilment (Matthew 7:14). Those who follow His direction never walk alone and never walk in vain.
Reflective Nugget: Why are you insisting on your own way instead of yielding to God’s direction?
