Text: 1 Peter 1:20-21
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
The Holy Spirit is neither an abstract force nor a thing. He is a person, the third person of the Trinity. As a person he speaks: Acts 13:2, he has emotions; he can be grieved: Ephesians 4:30. He was actively involved at creation- Genesis 1:2.
The Holy Spirit inspired the writings of the scriptures: 1 Peter 1:20-21. Therefore, the Word of God is not a product of man’s wisdom or idea.
He is called by several names throughout the scriptures, both in the old and in the new testaments. He is also called the Spirit of God: Genesis 1:2, the Spirit of Holiness: Romans 1:4, the Spirit of the Living God: 2 Corinthians 3:3, the Spirit of Christ: Philippians 1:19, the Spirit of Life: Romans 8:2, the Spirit of Wisdom: Isaiah 11:2, the Spirit of the Father: Matthew 10:20 and the Eternal Spirit: Hebrews 9:14
As God he is to be honored, obeyed and worshipped. Being God he knows all things (Omniscience); he is everywhere (Omnipresence) and he is all-powerful (Omnipotent).
If you haven’t done so, why not surrender your heart to Christ today so that you too can be a beneficiary of the person of the Holy Spirit?
Key Nugget: You too can begin to enjoy the person of the Holy Spirit from today if only you will live a life that pleases him.
