Text: Matthew 7:13–14
Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan
Exhortation:
Many are quick to do evil because it aligns with the natural desires of the flesh. The broad way is attractive, easy, and widely accepted, which makes it comfortable for many to follow. Jesus said, “Wide is the gate… that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at” (Matthew 7:13).
Throughout Scripture, we see that most of the kings of Judah chose evil, while only a few remained righteous. This reveals a pattern: righteousness requires discipline, conviction, and a heart devoted to God. It is always easier to descend than to ascend, just as it is easier to follow the crowd than to stand apart.
The narrow way, though difficult, leads to life and eternal reward. It demands self-denial, obedience, and a consistent walk with God. But “Strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it” (Matthew 7:14).
Friend, do not measure your life by the majority, but by God’s standard. Choose the narrow path even when it is unpopular, for it leads to true life. In the end, it is better to stand in righteousness than to be comfortable in destruction.
Prayer Nugget: Father, please, help me to walk in the narrow way regardless of the cost.
Give me the strength to stand for righteousness in every situation in Jesus name.
