Exhortation:

When it was a year to the fulfillment of God’s long term promise in his life the Lord appeared to Abram and said unto him, “I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.” Genesis 17:1

Abram cooperated with God, he followed all instructions given to him in total obedience and God had no choice but to fulfill his 25-year old promise in his life.

God is about to fulfill his long-awaited promises in your life in the New Year but you have a part to play.

About sixteen years ago the Holy Spirit told me that he wanted to move in a mighty way in my life and the life of my fiancée (back then before we got married) but he warned that we were the only ones that could hinder him if we allowed secret sins. I relayed the message to my wife-to-be. And we both examined our lives and ensured holiness was our watchword.

The following year God indeed moved mightily as he promised and our marital level changed permanently because we played our own part. The word of God says, “You have loved righteousness and hated lawlessness; therefore God, Your God, has anointed You With the oil of gladness more than Your companions.” Hebrews 1:9

God wants to move in your life in the New Year but you need to examine your life, repent and forsake any secret sin.

The word of God says, “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. “Proverbs 28:13. Again the scripture says, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” Psalm 66:18

You are the only one that can hinder God’s move in your life in the New Year. Examine your self today and as you pray your way into the New Year, make the necessary adjustments in your life.

Action Nugget: Rededicate your heart to the Lord, he will do a new thing in your life and fulfill his long term promises in your life in Jesus name.
