Text: Proverbs 3:5–6

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

The way a thing begins often determines how strong it will be in the end. When you start with God, confusion is reduced and direction becomes clear. Trusting God instead of leaning on your own understanding helps you avoid costly mistakes and wrong turns (Proverbs 3:5–6).

A New Year is like a fresh page, full of possibilities and opportunities. However, wisdom teaches us not to plan alone but to invite God, the Master Builder, to take full control. Without God’s involvement, even our best efforts can fail or become stressful (Psalm 127:1).

God takes pleasure in guiding the lives of those who willingly surrender their plans to Him. When He orders your steps, progress becomes steady, peaceful, and meaningful. You may not move fast, but you will move right (Psalm 37:23).

As you step into this New Year, resist the urge to rush ahead of God. Choose to walk with Him daily through prayer, obedience, and trust. When God leads, your journey will be fruitful, and your life will have lasting value (Isaiah 48:17).

Prayer Nugget: Father, I submit the foundation of this year to you. Order my steps and establish my ways. Let nothing I build collapse, in Jesus’ name.

Bible in One Year: Genesis 21-23
