Text: Psalm 11:3

Author: Pastor Adedeji Fadehan

Exhortation:

Many souls are struggling today because of faulty foundations. Jabez is a very good example. His mother had given him the name Jabez, because his birth had been very painful thereby giving him a very negative foundation.

Somebody may ask, “Is there any connection between a man’s name and destiny? O yes, there is a strong connection between your name and the outcome of your life.

If you notice, you will observe that several of the children with special assignments in the Holy Scriptures were personally named by God himself. Eg Isaac- Genesis 17:19, Jedidiah (Solomon)- 2 Samuel 12:24–25; John the Baptist – Luke 1:31 and Jesus Christ, the Saviour- Matthew 1:21.

Some folks who were already named by their earthly parents but who were having issues with their lives as a result of a faulty name foundation had their names changed at some point in their lives and their destinies took a turn for the better.

Abram became Abraham (Genesis 17:1-15) and barrenness was terminated; Jacob became Israel and he escaped the vengeance his brother earlier threatened to visit him with (Genesis 32:22-32 & 33); Simon became Peter and his life became stable- Matthew 16:13-16.

Today’stext say, “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do? Psalm 11:3. Just like Jabez, if your foundations be destroyed by anybody, even from your own parent (like the case of Jabez), all hopes are not lost. Like Jabez did in 1 Chronicles 4:9-10, cry to the Lord and your life will be turned around for the better in Jesus name.

Prayer Nugget: Father, please, visit my foundation today and repair it in Jesus name.
