Exhortation:
Happy New Month, Friends!
Welcome to the beginning of the “Ember” months! As we step into September, may the Lord bless you richly and abundantly in Jesus’ name.
It is God’s desire that we live fruitful lives. To be fruitful means to be productive, to flourish, and to yield positive results. Fruitfulness is the opposite of barrenness, and it is a clear sign of God’s blessing.
In Genesis 1:28, God blessed mankind saying, “Be fruitful and multiply…” — a call to procreate, expand, and ensure continuity.
In John 15:5, Jesus said, “He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit…” — here, fruit refers to Christ-like character, the fruit of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, and more (Galatians 5:22-23). It also points to the fruit of soul-winning.
As Christ’s ambassadors, we are called to reproduce the life of Christ in others, birthing spiritual converts through the preaching of the gospel.
But beware: it is dangerous to remain spiritually barren. Jesus cursed the fig tree because it bore no fruit- Mark 11:12-25. And as Matthew 7:19 reminds us: “Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.”
This month, may your life overflow with fruitfulness — in character, in impact, and in every area of your destiny.
Happy New Month once again, and stay fruitful in Christ!
Let us pray!
