Exhortation:
Enoch walked faithfully with God for 300 years and it was so much of an enjoyable experience that God took him alive. He was the first person that did not taste death. He was translated to Heaven alive. Genesis 5:21-24
The Writer of Hebrews threw more light into the life of Enoch, thus: “By faith Enoch was taken from this life, so that he did not experience death: “He could not be found, because God had taken him away.” For before he was taken, he was commended as one who pleased God.’ Hebrews 11:5
He was a man full of faith who preached against all forms of unrighteousness and prophesied concerning the second coming of Jesus Christ, saying, “See, the Lord is coming with thousands upon thousands of his holy ones to judge everyone, and to convict all of them of all the ungodly acts they have committed in their ungodliness, and of all the defiant words ungodly sinners have spoken against him.” Jude 14-15
His message throws more light into his personality. As a friend of God he spoke the mind of God to his generation. Our Lord Jesus Christ said, “You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you.” John 15:15
A man that refuses to walk with God will have the enemy of his soul as a ‘friend’.
