Exhortation:

Every blessing that the redemption package offers, places a responsibility on us as believers. For example, just as Christ forgave us, we are expected to forgive those that offend us.

Just as Christ bore our burdens we are expected to bear one another’s burdens- Galatians 6:2.

God first loved us and we are obligated to love him in return and to love our neighbours. The only debt we must continually owe our neighbour is the debt of love. 1 John 4:11.

Romans 13:8, which says, “Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law”.

The word of God also says, “Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person? …..Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 3:16-18

He came to serve and sacrifice, so are we expected to do. We are called to serve and not to be served- Mark 10:45; Romans 12:1.

Jesus also said, “As the Father has sent me, I also send you.” John 20:21. Just as Christ was sent by the Father to preach the gospel of repentance, so are we saddled with the same responsibility. We are to go to the whole world and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that he has commanded us. Matthew 28:19-20

The above spiritual responsibilities were what Christ referred to when he said, “Take my yoke upon you and learn of me….. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:29-30

Prophetic Nugget: Receive the grace to fulfill all the spiritual responsibilities in Jesus name.
